I feel old...

So, unless you have been living under a rock for the past 20 or so hours, you have heard about Farrah and The Gloved One. I remember playing "Charlie's Angels" with my friends and everyone always wanted to be Jill Munroe - once it was decided who got to be her, then the arguments would ensue over the second runner up, Kelly Garrett. No one wanted to be Sabrina (sorry Kate!). I was sad when I finally saw the news that Farrah passed, but of course, not at all surprised. Eerily (not really) enough, I said to a couple of people that I wondered who in the celeb world was next, as they always die in threes. Why is that? I know that everyone knows that, but does anyone have an answer?
MJ, MJ, MJ. Didn't even cross my mind that you would be number three. Do you think any celebs start thinking that they are next when they hear of these things? Anyway, I don't really know how to feel about this one. I am of the age where Thriller was THE album, had THE songs to listen to, and I remember distinctly the absolutely huge event that the premiere of the Thriller video was. I told my hubby how the Easter Bunny brought me a button with MJ's picture on it (the one where he wore a yellow sweater). As I got a little older, it became uncool to like MJ. Even when Bad came out, he was on the way out for those my age. Then came the weirdness/craziness/creepiness, whatever you want to call it. That's all my kids really know about him, except for that he sang that song we always play on Halloween. How do you explain the phenomenon of MJ to kids these days? I said, "you know how huge Miley Cyrus/Hannah Montana is?" "That's nothing". They were amazed. Anyway...listening to the radio while driving last night, I'll admit, I rolled down the windows, cranked up the volume and sang. There is absolutely no denying that the songs were good. I did not shed a tear though - I can't for what he became (always was?). I will shed a tear when Madonna goes though I think, because while I was not a Madonna-wanabe, I did dress as her for Halloween when I was in 8th grade and it was still my best costume EVER. Planned it for a year! Back to MJ, I think though that his life was very sad, very demented and I can not wait to find out what the real deal is on his life, the children and everything else. The gossip lover in me wants to know!!
Speaking of gossip...I hope that ph(ml) falls off the face of the gossip planet. He is so full of vitriol and I cheer for what has been happening the past week. Check out CDAN, Dlisted, Defamer/Gawker if you want some fun reads. Am on the fence about Lainey though. I like Nicole Kidman and Jennifer Aniston. She hates them and I really don't know why. For the record, I think that NK really did have a baby and I like her in movies. I also think JA is a good actress, but gets pigeonholed into "Rachel" parts, but so what? She makes a ton of money and looks good doing it. I also think that JA, BP and AJ could care less about one another. Well, I would hope that BP & AJ care about each other, but you get the point.
This is all totally random today. My brain has already shut off for the weekend, but I have so much to do today.
Anyway, I don't think anyone is reading this yet, but that is fine. Like I said in my first post, this is really for me to get my thoughts out there so they stop spinning in my head.
